“Ta’o-Ne7ke” is a training tool on inter-personal conflict transformation.
“Ta’o-Nehke” is an innovative board game that uses role-play and simulation exercise with several scenarios of interpersonal conflicts. In addition to the four built-in scenarios, “Ta’o-Nehke” can be expanded to include new scenarios through its scenario creation template, a unique feature which allow the young players to develop and play their own scenarios based on real conflicts in their communities.
The main objective of this game is to empower youth to deal with interpersonal and intra-communal conflicts within their communities.
The design and creation of this game has been made possible through the generous contribution of our funders and partners. ALEF would like to thank the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) through its Regional Human Rights and Peace building Fund (INSAN) along with the German International Cooperation Organization (GIZ) for their financial and technical support throughout this endeavor. Also, ALEF would like to extend its gratitude to all the persons who contributed directly and indirectly to create this toolkit.
Finally, a word of gratitude goes to the Naseej Program for Community Youth Development Initiative - Save the children – US which contributed in concepts and practices of Community Youth Development in 2006.

IN THE FIRST PHASE, RAY I, ALEF HAS PRODUCED AN ENTERTAINING TOOLKIT ON COMMUNITY YOUTH PEACE BUILDING, INTERPERSONAL CONFLICT TRANSFORMATION, HUMAN RIGHTS, AND NON-VIOLENT COMMUNICATION CALLED “TA’O-NEHKE” (“LET’S TALK” IN ENGLISH), WHICH ENABLES THE YOUNGSTERS TO BE MORE LIKELY TO UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF THEIR ROLE IN A INTERPERSONAL CONFLICTUAL SITUATION. “TA’O-NEHKE” HAS BEEN TESTED IN 3 LEBANESE COMMUNITIES (YAMMOUNI CLUB – YC, RAWDA HIGH SCHOOL – RHS, AND BEIRUT ARAB UNIVERSITY – BAU) THROUGH A 3 DAY WORKSHOP, INCLUDING PEACE BUILDING AND CONFLICT TRANSFORMATION SESSIONS.
IN THE SECOND PHASE, RAY II, ALEF TRAINED 15 NEW LEBANESE YOUTH TO BE FACILITATOR OF THE BOARD GAME AND IMPLEMENTED IT IN TWO OTHER COMMUNITIES (RAWDA HIGH SCHOOL – RHS, AND NOTRE DAME UNIVERSITY – NDU) THROUGH A 3 DAY WORKSHOP, INCLUDING PEACE BUILDING AND CONFLICT TRANSFORMATION SESSIONS.
IN THE THIRD PHASE, RAY III, ALEF WANTS TO REACH OUT AND PROMOTE THE TOOLKIT IN THE LEBANESE SOCIETY ON A LOCAL LEVEL. THIS OUTREACH WILL BE IMPLEMENTED BY ALL THE ALREADY TRAINED FACILITATORS FROM RAY I AND II.
