Ta3o Ne7ke a Game on Inter-Personal Conflict Transformation

“Ta’o Nehke” is an innovative board game that uses role-play and simulation exercise with several scenarios of interpersonal conflicts. In addition to the 4 built-in scenarios, "Ta’o Nehke" can be expanded to include new scenarios through its scenario creation template, a unique feature which allow the young players to develop and play their own scenarios based on real conflicts in their communities.

“Ta’o-Ne7ke” is a training tool on inter-personal conflict transformation.
“Ta’o-Nehke” is an innovative board game that uses role-play and simulation exercise with several scenarios of interpersonal conflicts. In addition to the four built-in scenarios, “Ta’o-Nehke” can be expanded to include new scenarios through its scenario creation template, a unique feature which allow the young players to develop and play their own scenarios based on real conflicts in their communities.
The main objective of this game is to empower youth to deal with interpersonal and intra-communal conflicts within their communities.

“Ta3o Ne7ke”
aims at:

• Introducing youth to the skills of transforming conflicts in a fun and interactive way
• Promoting a culture of dialogue, constructive communication, common grounds for living together
• Promoting conflict facilitation skills among youth in addition to empathy, relationship building, active listening, nonviolence, and creativity

RAY - Responsible and Active Youth

IN THE PEACE EDUCATION AND OUTREACH PROGRAM, ALEF HAS BEEN RUNNING A PROJECT CALLED RESPONSIBLE AND ACTIVE YOUTH – RAY, WHICH AIMS AT PROMOTING A CULTURE OF PEACE BUILDING AND RESPECT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS AMONGST LEBANESE YOUTH FROM DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS THROUGH CREATING A CONSTRUCTIVE PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN YOUTH AND THEIR COMMUNITIES TOWARD A NON-VIOLENT FUTURE.
IN THE FIRST PHASE, RAY I, ALEF HAS PRODUCED AN ENTERTAINING TOOLKIT ON COMMUNITY YOUTH PEACE BUILDING, INTERPERSONAL CONFLICT TRANSFORMATION, HUMAN RIGHTS, AND NON-VIOLENT COMMUNICATION CALLED “TA’O-NEHKE” (“LET’S TALK” IN ENGLISH), WHICH ENABLES THE YOUNGSTERS TO BE MORE LIKELY TO UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF THEIR ROLE IN A INTERPERSONAL CONFLICTUAL SITUATION. “TA’O-NEHKE” HAS BEEN TESTED IN 3 LEBANESE COMMUNITIES (YAMMOUNI CLUB – YC, RAWDA HIGH SCHOOL – RHS, AND BEIRUT ARAB UNIVERSITY – BAU) THROUGH A 3 DAY WORKSHOP, INCLUDING PEACE BUILDING AND CONFLICT TRANSFORMATION SESSIONS.
IN THE SECOND PHASE, RAY II, ALEF TRAINED 15 NEW LEBANESE YOUTH TO BE FACILITATOR OF THE BOARD GAME AND IMPLEMENTED IT IN TWO OTHER COMMUNITIES (RAWDA HIGH SCHOOL – RHS, AND NOTRE DAME UNIVERSITY – NDU) THROUGH A 3 DAY WORKSHOP, INCLUDING PEACE BUILDING AND CONFLICT TRANSFORMATION SESSIONS.
IN THE THIRD PHASE, RAY III, ALEF WANTS TO REACH OUT AND PROMOTE THE TOOLKIT IN THE LEBANESE SOCIETY ON A LOCAL LEVEL. THIS OUTREACH WILL BE IMPLEMENTED BY ALL THE ALREADY TRAINED FACILITATORS FROM RAY I AND II.
